President Donald Trump says he’s not looking at lowering tariffs on India, one week after the US doubled levies on the country’s imports to 50% as punishment for its Russian oil imports.

The tariffs on India could be affected by the federal appeals court ruling against “Liberation Day” levies on trading partner countries. But the ruling allowed the tariffs to remain in place at least through mid-October to allow an appeal to the Supreme Court.

India relationship was previously one-sided due to India's high tariffs. He imposed tariffs on India, citing the Harley Davidson example. India responded by calling the tariffs unjustified, and bilateral trade in goods was $131.
