You can play chess against a machine on just about any computer, but that’s not nearly as fun as playing with real pieces.
The table uses a DIY projector made from a 128 x 64 LCD. As the person you are playing online moves his virtual pieces, arrows are projected onto the DIY chess board table.
A chess board has 8 squares on each side (64 on the board in total), so take your wooden box and divide the length/width by 8. Using a ruler, mark the lines on the lid of the box.
