Microsoft permanently disabled the Internet Explorer 11 desktop app on certain versions of Windows 10 this Tuesday through a Microsoft Edge update.
Anyway, the new change probably won’t affect too many people. Internet Explorer’s market share has been shrinking for years, and Microsoft never even included the browser in Windows 11.
Ironically, the Internet Explorer 7 browser, released for Windows Vista and Window Server 2008, has outlasted IE 11. The IE 7 browser is scheduled to reach its end-of-support phase on Oct. 10, 2023.
