Ethereum test network Ropsten has forked into two separate chains following the activation of system-wide upgrade Istanbul. “It appears there are two different chains mining the Ropsten test network.

The Ethereum Foundation said in a Wednesday blog post that the blockchain’s Ropsten test network (testnet) has begun to wind down, with a full shutdown anticipated for sometime between Dec. 15-31.
