The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a new tropical wave that has emerged off the western shore of Africa.

TRACKING THE TROPICS  The tropics remain fairly quiet during the peak of hurricane season, but forecasters are watching a wave off the African Coast.

Will it rain today? Atlantic hurricane season is June 1 to Nov. 30, 2025, with most tropical storm activity between August and October in Florida.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The National Hurricane Center (NHC) and the News19 Weather Team are monitoring Invest 91-L over the central tropical Atlantic Ocean. A tropical depression is expected to develop, and it could form by early next week. The next name on the list for the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season is Gabrielle.
