An Amtrak train traveling from San Antonio to Chicago hit a vehicle south of Taylor. The driver of the vehicle died at the scene.

One person is dead after a passenger train collided with a vehicle Wednesday morning near Round Rock. The Williamson County Sheriff's Office said an Amtrak train slammed into the vehicle about 10 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 79 and County Road 110. One person died in the crash, KVUE reported.

Amtrak said via email that the train was traveling from San Antonio to Chicago when it "came into contact with a vehicle."
